Mexico, Missouri and Marfa

Well apparently we love to vacation at "M" spots!

First there was Mexico...


9 days in Akumal was absolutely amazing!

A few trip highlights-

Good times with old friends...

(Kevin and Rich) These guys have been friends since college. Rich now lives with his family in Playa del Carmen and came down to hang with us. They were so fun!


Then Kevin has a business retreat in Missouri and the company encourages families... totally awesome! So we drove to Missouri and spent four days at Lake of the Ozarks.


Absolutely gorgeous!


We stayed at the Four Seasons and it was awesome. We had a two bedroom, two bath condo and it was very nice.

Now we are headed to Marfa for Independance Day.


The fourth is my favorite time to go because we find lots of these little guys!

One Week

In one week...


My bed will look like this,



our backyard will have this view,


I will eat this for breakfast,


my kids will be playing here,


and I will be taking it all in!

Today my first born...

turns eleven.


The years seem to have flown by.



It's so hard to believe!


It seems like only yesterday he was just a baby.


And now he's playing football and about to go to middle school.


Parker, I am so proud of the young man you have become!


You are an excellent student (all A's this and a 100 on the TAKS)!

Your bestfriends are Logan and Cameron.


You love to travel,


meet new people


and see new things.



You have an infectious laugh, and really enjoy life.


You love to play football, anything Texas A&M and the Xbox 360.



You are quite the hunter, and have a strong love for the outdoors.

And even though you hate that I say it, sometimes I think you should be a model!


And even though your little sisters drive you crazy,


you are the best big brother they could ask for!

A Wild Party!!!

Rain's Birthday party with her friends from school was on Friday at Megabryt. That's a little store downtown that carries clothing, accessories and jewelry (of course!)

The theme she chose was zebra and hot pink.


I found this adorable zebra cake at New City Bakery. It was delicious!

And those cute zebra balloons added to the "wild" feel. The girls just loved them.

Valeria and her little sister were the first guests to arrive.


As soon as the others started to trickle in, it was time for pizza!


Rain's favorite: Macaroni and cheese pizza from Cici's!


Then it was time for the girls to choose their beads...


there were so many to choose from-tough decisions!
