Blessed

Ok, so I've been a BAD blogger. Sorry! Things have been CrAzY at the shop (which is great) and every time I sit down to blog my camera is at the shop and blog posts are boring without pictures.

So much has gone on the past month, I just don't know where to start... Maya had a follow-up echo with Dr. Brownlee and her leak is fixed. That's right- No more leak and no more meds. PRAISE THE LORD!!! It's still hard to believe that I am actually writing this.

Rain and Parker are doing great is school, and both have their birthdays coming up. I can't believe they are turning 8 and 12. Oh my~ Parker is going to have a camp-out at the farm and Rain wants a bowling party. So there is definitely some birthday planning in my future!

Speaking of birthdays, the shop was 3 months old on my birthday (March 1). It has been such a blessing... Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would do this well. I have been able to watch my dream become a reality and I feel so blessed! People come in, create their own "look" from one of my designs, some people buy fabric to make their own creations & some buy off the rack. I love what I do and the people I work with~ and... $1 of every sale goes to a foundation in San Antonio to help kids get heart surgery. I love being able to contribute to this cause.

So things have been busy, but I promise to be a better blogger! Thank you to all my sweet family and friends who have offered their encouragement!

LORD my GOD, You have done many things-Your wonderful works and Your plans for us; none can compare with You.

Happy Birthday, Maya!

Today our baby turns 5... it is so hard to believe how fast you have grown!

You are sweet and beautiful inside and out and you have been through a lot this year.

Actually, you've been through more in your first five years than many people 10 times your age. I am so proud of what a strong person you have become.

You love the beach and love to sing and dance and will do so just about anywhere you go. Your favorite color is still purple, and your hippo is never far away.

You love your brother and sister, and our Dixie. Sometimes you love her a little too much!

Thank you for being you... smart and sassy and so full of life! We love you more than you will ever know!

back in the swing...

The day after Christmas, we headed to West Texas for a week to do a little hunting (and reading & sleeping if you're me, ha!) We got back from Marfa around 6 last night... it was a really fun trip! The girls got an ipod touch for Christmas, so I thought I would show you Marfa through their eyes...

We also had some very successful hunts...

Our friends Mark and Ronnie Barber took these giant bucks

and I shot this OLD 10 point that was pushing around a younger deer with better genetics... and we got a cape for Parker's mount, so it worked out nicely!

Now back to reality!

Merry Christmas!

Today was the last day the shop will be open until next year... It has been busy and I am so thankful for that! On top of starting that new venture, Christmas is just a busy time anyway... but I love it.

We spent last Saturday with Kevin's mom's family and then had my mom's side over Wednesday night. Tomorrow night we go to Kevin's dad's house and then Santa comes, of course! Christmas morning is always my favorite... there's just something about sleepy eyes, full stockings and opening presents in your pj's. Sometimes I wish I could stretch time so the day would go just a little slower...

Thank you to all our family and friends who have supported us these past few months... we could not have gotten threw through without you. I hope that each of you has a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy 2011!

MIA

Sorry I have been MIA for awhile...Last week sure was a busy one!

On Monday, we slapped up the last coat of paint at the store and installed fixtures.

On Tuesday, we cleaned and put out the product and some of my sewing tables were installed. (Thank you Korpi Family!!)

On Wednesday, I made my first dollar.

On Thursday, we served over 1800 (no that is not a type-o) cups of Wassail... and won People's Choice 3rd Place.

On Friday, we tried to fill in some of the holes in inventory for Gruene Market Days and packed it all up.

On Saturday and Sunday we spent selling it all in Gruene!

A big thank you to all our friends and family who helped us make it through the busiest week ever~ We could not have done it without you!!!

So much to be thankful for...

Update: Alejandro's surgery was a success and he is recovering well. Thanks to all of you for adding him to your prayer list!

Things have been busy around here... very busy. We just wrapped up Weihnachtsmarkt and it was so much fun! Here are a few peeks from the show.

It was a BIG success and I am so thankful for all those who came out and LOVED our stuff! Makes all the designing, cutting, pressing and sewing worth it!

We spent the first part of last week recovering from the show and getting the store ready. It is coming along though it will be down to the wire on December 1st!

Then we ate turkey and headed to Marfa for some much needed R&R... oh, and hunting of coarse!

Parker took his first mule deer and it was awesome! I am so glad that it all worked out because he will be in Dallas when we go back after Christmas. This was his only opportunity and boy did he make the most of it!

Maya got the stomach bug on Sunday and she started getting sick at the beginning of our 7 hour drive. Poor thing... nothing worse than having it come out of both ends while being stuck in the truck for 430 miles. After everything though, I am thankful that it is the stomach bug. We have been through so much worse lately...

Well, the rest of the week will be spent preparing for the soft opening and getting that sewing space up and running. We open on Wednesday and will be a Wassail stop on Thursday night. Pop in and say hello if you are in the area!
